He Cares For You

"If we cast our burdens upon another, can they continue to press upon us? If we bring them away with us from the throne of Grace, it is evident we do not leave it there." -Doctor Payton- "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7

His Grace is Sufficient

2 Corinthians 12:9 "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you for my strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly will I rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."

What if the Church was a Family?

I often chew on a thought for a long time, trying to solve a problem or trying to sort out my thoughts so I can actually write it down. Yet, no matter how long I think about it, I still have trouble writing it out in the be st way so others can understand what I am saying. Therefore, I am just going to try to say what I want to say and hope that you will understand. My thought is: what if Christian single men and women conversed with each other as brothers and sister in Christ? I see a lot of young singles who go round flirting with the opposite sex. Then there is the other side of the spectrum where the men stay with the men and the women stay with the women. I highly disapprove of the flirtatious type, yet I don’t agree with the segregation either. Also I see a lot of age segregation. It seems that in many churches today the older married women will talk with other older women, the younger married women have their little group, the children have their group, the singles their group,

Post 101

Yay! I have reached 100 posts! This is actually my 101 post. Isn’t that exciting? I started blogging on December 31, 2009 . My first ever post was about modesty , something that I am very passionate about and love to see others passionate about, too. I have written about the  importance  of men cooking , the joys of having many siblings , thoughts on pencils , and much much more.  When I started my blog my desire was that my blog be an encouragement to all that read it. I pray that every single post (past and future) be a blessing in some way to someone. I hope that each post will either bring comfort, joy, laughter, a smile, encouragement or some how reach out to the person who reads it. So thank you everyone who reads my blog, or has read my blog. You are a blessing to me even though I may not know who you are. It blesses me to have people read the things that I write. God bless you! Have a happy day filled with sunshine, smiles, and laughter!

To My Sister Elisabeth

Dear Elisabeth, Happy 15 th birthday! I am a truly blessed girl to have you as my sister. I love doing crazy things with you. I love it that all we have to do is look at each other and we start laughing. I am glad that we can disagree with a lot of things, yet still love each other. It adds to the fun of being sisters. Thank you for sometimes being kind enough to laugh at my silly jokes and then making me laugh because you are laughing. I love it that you are unique in your very own way. I love how you like to make weird concoctions that you say are really good, but honestly I think would be nasty. I love it that you are willing to do what is right even if that means standing alone. I love to watch you grow into a beautiful and godly young lady who is passionate for Christ. I love it that you are and always will be my little sister, even though you are taller than me. Mostly I love you simply because you are you. I love that you are different than me and I never want to change that.

Painting, Poetry, and Questions for You!

This is Humpty Dumpty and His wife, painted on egg shells! If you have a friend If you have a friend worth loving, Love him! Yes, and let him know That you love him, ere life’s evening Tinge his brow with sunset glow. Why should good words ne’er be said Of a friend till he is dead? If you hear a song that thrills you, Sung by any child of song, Praise it! Do not let the singer Wait deserved praise long. Why should one who thrills your heart Lack the joy you may impart? If you hear a prayer that moves you By its humble, pleading tone, Join it! Do not let the seeker Bow before its God alone. Why should not your brother share The strength of “two or three” in prayer? If you see the hot tears falling From a brothers weeping eyes, Share them! And by kindly sharing Own our kinship in the skies. Why should anyone be glad When a brother’s heart is sad? If a silvery laugh goes rippling Through the sunshine on his face, Share it! ‘Tis the wise man’s saying For both grief and joy a plac
