Flowers in January

Isaiah 61:10-11  "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.  For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and  praise to spring forth before all the nations."

True Beauty!

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,  but a woman who fears the Lord,  she shall be praised."  Proverbs 31:30

But What Did My Mom Do?

Recently my mom, sisters, and I went to a baby shower for a friend. I had crocheted a blanket for her, Priscilla had knitted a hat and booties, and Elisabeth and Bethany had designed some beautiful cards. Everyone there was amazed at our creativity, oohing and awing at our talent. Then one of the ladies turned to me and said, "But what did your Mom do?" I just laughed and said that she bought the yarn.             Later I began to think about that question more seriously. What had my Mom done? Yes, it is true she hadn't made any of those gifts. She doesn’t know how to knit or crochet; neither is she the best artist (Although she has drawn some pretty cute things before.) So what has my Mom done?             Well, my mom has done more then you realize. For starters, she's the one that married my Dad and gave birth to us. What woman is willing to go through birth pains nine times? I know that there are plenty of women out there who would and have, but I also k

So here are some questions for the bloggers out there and those who read blogs. When you read other peoples blogs do you like to read long posts or short posts? Are you more likely to read a blog if it has pictures for the posts? Do you like to comment on peoples blogs? (If you don’t then I probably won’t ever find out because you probably won’t comment on this post.☺) Do you think I should post more pictures on my blog? What do you think I should blog about?

A Crocheted Blanket!

Although I never thought I would ever crochet a blanket, because I thought it would take too long and become boring, I did end up doing one in less then a month. I made it for a little friend of mine, which I think is the reason why it was actually enjoyable to make. I find that I enjoy making something a lot more when I have someone to give it to, than when I am just making it for myself. So here are some pictures of my first crocheted blanket.  Working on it. Still working  I thought this picture looked kind of old-fashioned because it was taken with a digital camera looking through an old film camera.   Me and the finished blanket.   The finished blanket. Do you like to crochet? If so what are your favorite things to make? What are some things that you have made? Have a happy day in Jesus!
