On a Mission for God's Kingdom

Hola! I know I haven't written in a long time, but here is a post about my time in the D.R. I hope you are blessed!

Traveling went very well and we arrived in the D.R. safely and with little trouble. Upon arriving at the complex (Score International’s hotel), we were welcomed warmly and refreshed with delicious punch and cheesecake.
Day 2 we were able to go to a poor church in a little village and hand out bags of food. We also spent some time worshiping with them and then praying for them. I was very blessed to be among fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, even though we could not always understand what they said. We also went to a nursing home that day and were able to sing with and minister to the elderly people there. I was blessed by there joy and gratitude even though they had so little and were living in such poverty.
Day 3 was Sunday, and I had a wonderful refreshing time worshiping with the believers there.
Day 4 was our first of four medical days. Each of these days we would go to a different church in a village or city and set up all our medical stuff. There we treated the people to the best of our abilities. Many people from our team were able to share there testimony with the people and all the people that came heard the gospel told to them. There were 21 people who accepted Christ as their Savior and 2,100 tracts were handed out. I rejoice in the fact that these people now have the gospel in there hands and I pray that even now many of them would come to Christ.
Day 7 we went to the Lilly House, a place for ex-prostitutes to live and learn new skills, and did a good amount of painting for them there. I also had fun playing with the children there.
The last day that we were there we went to Catalina Island for fun and relaxation. Some of us left that Island very burnt, yet nevertheless, very happy.
I was very happy to arrive safely back home on Saturday.
One of my favorite parts of being there were the children. I fell in love with the children there. I love the fact that I could play with them and have fun with them even though we didn't usually understand each other.
I am so glad that I was able to go on this mission’s trip. I fell in love with the people there and learned so much about serving others. I was blessed by the joy that these people had, even though they had so little. They would not complain even when they had nothing and were in tremendous pain and suffering.
