Give Thanks

I thought that since Thanksgiving is coming up I would say some things I am thankful for. I am very thankful the Christian parents that God has blessed me with. I am thankful for all the brothers and sisters God has given me. I am thankful for all those who stop by and visit my blog (that means you). I am thankful for all the friends that God has blessed me with. I am most thankful, though, for God sending his only son, Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins, so that I could have eternal life. Thank you, God, for saving me. How about you? What are you thankful for?

Here is one of our favorite dishes for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is a recipe from a friend.

Sweet Potato Casserole Delight

3 cups cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
1 cup sugar
½ cup milk
¼ cup butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon salt

Topping:
½ stick butter
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped nuts

Mix together well and pour into a buttered 13x9” baking dish. For topping, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar. Add flour and nuts and mix well. Sprinkle over potato mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
