Leaf

Sometimes its the little things in life that make one happy, such as...a leaf!

My roommate and I were very excited to find a brown leaf on the ground today in downtown Minneapolis. For your information, this is a rare and precious sight for this time of year.

    so many times, i think that i need something like really BIG to satisfy me and make me happy. but, i've found that by getting more bigger and supposedly "better" things, it just makes me greedy and unthankful.
    it's these little things that forces me to look around me and count my blessings. to pay attention to the things i take for granted (:

    Dear Hannah,
    My heart goes out to you! It's just terrible about your brother. How old were you when he died? I am praying for all of you.
    I am the second of a homeschooling family too. We have nine kids too. :-)
    This blog is such an encouragement.
    Do you all have Bible names? We do. We also have a Hannah.

      I was 12 when my brother died. God has been very good and gracious to me. He gives me strength for each day, so that in spite of my sorrows, I can rejoice in the promises of Christ.

Hidden Treasures From the Thrift Stores

I know it can be kind of discouraging for Christians girls, who really desire to dress modestly, to go shopping. Often times it is very hard to find something that is modest. Yet if you look hard enough, you can find the hidden treasures. One of my favorite places to buy clothes is at the thrift stores. That way I can get a good deal and there is also usually more of a variety. Therefore, today my mom, sister, and I went shopping and we're blessed to find two very nice (at least in my opinion), but also modest dresses. This is my dress. I am wearing a white t-shirt with it, because it only has straps. This is Priscilla's  dress. So my encouragement to ya'll girls out there trying to dress modestly: DON'T GIVE UP! There is modest clothing out there, it just might take a bit of searching. Also, don't forget to check out the thrift stores. That is where I find almost all of my clothes. Winnie the Pooh

I have a confession. Ok, not really a confession because just about everyone who actually knows me knows it and I am not ashamed of it, but.... I have an obsession, of sorts, with Winnie the Pooh! Yes, go ahead and laugh, but seriously, I kind of like him a lot (ok, not as much as Cowboys, but that is a different story). So my car has a little Winnie the Pooh hanging on the mirror and he basically is my friend that accompanies me on all my road trips and road adventures of getting lost (happens a lot). So, whether you like it or not this post is Winnie the Pooh quotes. I probably just scared away half my readers, but you know if you can't put up with my Winnie the Pooh obsession for just one day than that is really just too bad.
